To strengthen the project’s efforts in education, scientific research, and sustainability, a one-of-a-kind cooperation agreement was established with the National Institute of Biodiversity (INBio), for the design and interpretation of the park’s nature exhibitions and operation of the research center.

The park was inaugurated by the President in July 2008 and serves local and international tourists, including all major cruise lines serving the Caribbean routes.
